Charging at a peer's charger is a social act. You are using someone's home outlet, their garage, their time. Communication between the EV owner and the charger provider matters just as much as the kilowatts flowing between the two vehicles — and until today, the chat widget on the session page was not delivering.

The secure chat on your active session page has been a fixture since we introduced session pages. But it had a critical flaw: sending a message only added it to your own screen. Nothing was stored, nothing was routed, and every message was unassigned. Two people could stare at the same empty thread, each believing the other had gone silent.

That changes today. The secure session chat now works end to end. When you send a message on the session page, it is persisted to a conversation thread scoped to your session, and the other party retrieves it in real time. EV owners and charger providers can now discuss arrival windows, charging power preferences, or hand-off logistics without ever leaving the session view.

Under the hood, the backend now keeps a conversation thread per session, and a dedicated history service serves that thread back to the widget. Messages render exactly as intended: the other party's messages on the left, yours on the right, timestamps on each bubble, and clear session context.

We also made the bookings list smarter while we were in there. Every booking card now shows a live countdown badge — "Starts in 2h 15m" — for scheduled sessions, and relative timestamps like "2h ago" beside each date. Scanning your upcoming and past charges at a glance is now effortless, whether you are planning a day of errands or reviewing last week.

And for the schedule-driven among us: every upcoming booking now has an "Add to Calendar" button. One click downloads a calendar invite covering your exact booking window — your requested start time plus the number of hours you booked — so the charge slot shows up in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook right next to the rest of your day. No more wondering whether you remembered the time slot.

We also closed an edge case: a booking card could previously render missing financial figures incorrectly. Financial values now render safely with graceful fallbacks, so cards stay clean no matter what the data layer returns.

None of these are headline features. They are the quiet fixes that make a marketplace feel trustworthy: a chat that actually connects you to the person on the other end of the cable, a countdown that respects your schedule, and a calendar invite that turns a booking into a commitment. When you charge next, you will notice — and that is exactly the point.
